With the help of a handy volunteer crew Boulder Fly Casters was able to install the remaining “Catch and Release Signs.” The signs were posted on popular fishing holes from Ebin Fine Park all
the way to 55th street.
Historically, “Catch and Release” signs have had an extremely positive impact on Colorado fly fishing streams. The Yampa River through down town Steamboat has become a remarkable fishery due to good catch and release practices…and carefully placed “C & R” signs. Hopefully the new signs on Boulder Creek will help keep more fish in the river. I was happy to help the crew out and a special thanks to Boulder Fly Casters and all the volunteers for taking initiative and making this happen. Now if only we could get the canyon stretches of Boulder Creek to be strictly catch and release only…
On a side note, Boulder Creek looks great right now! The creek has a good flow and is slightly off
color…now may be the best time of the year to catch a BIG brown trout on Boulder Creek!
