Despite being one of the more popular and talked about fly rods on the market today, many casters were initially unpleased with the new aged look of the original black and blue fly rods. Personally I kind of liked the progressive look of the original NRX but I can certainly understand why a traditionalist dry fly fisherman might find the bright black and blue fly rods to be a bit of an eye sore.
